Imagination Conference at NPS for a Safter Community- 2/1/2011

Imagine A Safer Community 2021

You are Invited to Participate in an Imagination Conversation

February 1, 2011

9:00 - 12:00

Barbara McNitt Ballroom, Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA

Monterey County relies on people like you to create and maintain an economically strong, healthy and safe community. The Naval Postgraduate School, in conjunction with the Lincoln Center and facilitated by the Guiding Lights Network, presents a unique opportunity for you to participate in an Imagination Conversation to explore innovative ways to strengthen our local communities and the nation.

Too often, we struggle to solve new complex problems by limiting ourselves to the existing systems, policies and organizational structures with which we are familiar and comfortable. The focus of the Imagination Conversation will be to apply our imagination and creativity to envision new approaches that redefine how we conduct business, educate our children and leaders, run our governments and protect our communities and country.

The featured speaker and facilitator is Eric Liu, co-author of Imagination First: Unlocking the Power of Possibility. The discussion will illustrate the importance of imagination as a resource to create innovative solutions for real world challenges today and in the future. Imagination Conversation partners will include the Naval Postgraduate School, Guiding Lights Network, Lincoln Center Institute, Center for Homeland Defense and Security, Monterey Institute of International Studies and Monterey County education, community and business leaders.

    More about: The Imagination Conversations

The Imagination Conversations, a project of Lincoln Center Institute and a part of the Lincoln Center 50 Years celebration, run from the fall of 2009 to the spring of 2011. Conversations are hosted by local, state, government, business, and cultural leaders. Diverse groups of panelists with distinctive perspectives draw a wide range of audience members from the public and private sectors. Moderators facilitate the conversations, some of which reach viewers nationwide via live and archived streaming video.
