7/11/09 the San Benito-Monterey Cal Fire, Emergency Command Center Battalion Chief Sam Walker, provided an 8 hour class in Cal Fire Wild Land Fire Safety to approximately 12 Aamteur Radio Operators.

August 3, 2009 Brad Klemek/KJ6ATF announced, via the 2000 local Fremont Peak Repeater Association Net, that he was monitoring the Monterey-San Benito Counties American Red Cross base station. On or about 1800 local Brad stated an "ARC EVAC Center had been established at the San Antonio Community Center to expect possibly 75 evacuees from the "Ponderosa Fire." At 2220 hours Brad announced they were DEMOBing. 8/4/09 clarification from Monterey County OES Planner Bertha Simpson that the EVAC center remained open until midnight (2400 local)
